Author Guidelines
The Frontiers in Food, Drug and Natural Sciences (FDNS) publishes original research papers, expedited communications, short communications/case reports/technical reports, review articles, and correspondence related to research, education, and practical aspects of food and drug science. Materials submitted to the journal must not have been previously published or be under consideration for publication in another journal, other than in abstract form.
Submission must be made online using this website. Only manuscripts in ".doc" format will be accepted ("pdf" files are not acceptable).
Conflict of interest
All authors are requested to disclose any actual or potential conflict of interest including any financial, personal, or other relationships with other people or organizations within three years of beginning the submitted work that could inappropriately influence, or be perceived to influence, their work. Authors must declare any such conflict in the cover letter accompanying the manuscript and in the Acknowledgments section of the manuscript itself. MORE ...
Permissions
Authors wishing to include figures, tables, or text passages that have already been published elsewhere are required to obtain permission from the copyright owner(s) for online- and also for print format- and to include evidence that such permission has been granted when submitting their manuscript. Any material received without such evidence will be assumed to originate from the authors.
Preparation of manuscripts
Please write your text in good English (American or British usage is accepted, but not a mixture of these). Submission to this journal proceeds totally online and you will be guided stepwise through the creation and uploading of your files.
The manuscript should be typed, and double-spaced with at least a 2.5 cm margin on each side in Microsoft Word 2007 (or 2010 and 2013) format (Times New Roman 12). The text should be in single-column format. Each page of the manuscript should be numbered. Pages should be numbered consecutively throughout the paper. To avoid unnecessary errors you are strongly advised to use the 'spell-check' and 'grammar-check' functions of your word processor.

This must not contain details of the authors or their affiliations. The manuscript should start with the full title, followed by an abstract of not more than 250 words, followed by 5-7 keywords. Keywords should be alphabetized and separated by semicolons (;). The main body of the text should begin on the second page. Section heading should be used as follows:
Original research papers: the headings introduction, materials & methods, results & discussion, conclusions, acknowledgment(s), and references.
Expedited Communications: the headings introduction, material & methods, results & discussion, conclusions, acknowledgments, and references.
Short communications/case reports/technical notes: should be written (up to 2500 words) with an Abstract, but not divided up into other conventional sections. Short communications/case reports/technical notes should be written with no more than 20 references.
Reviews: the format is flexible, but should have an introduction, main body, and conclusions. The main body can be divided into subsections at the author's discretion. Review papers will be accepted in areas of topical interest, will normally focus on literature published over the previous ten years.

Please ensure that every reference cited in the text is also present in the reference list (and vice versa). Unpublished results and personal communications are not recommended in the text and reference list.
All publications cited in the text should be presented in a list of references following the text of the manuscript. In the text refer to the author's surname (without initials) and year of publication:
The list of references in the text should be arranged alphabetically Aubourg, 2017; Hosseini et al., 2020; Klomklao et al., 2019; Nalan et al., 2013; Shahidi & Wanasundara, 1992a,b; Velazquez & Borderías, 2021), and then further sorted chronologically if necessary. More than one reference from the same author(s) in the same year must be identified by the letters 'a', 'b', 'c', etc., placed after the year of publication (Hosseini, 2019a,b).

Web references: As a minimum, the full URL should be given and the date when the reference was last accessed. Any further information, if known (DOI, author names, dates, reference to a source publication, etc.), should also be given. Web references can be listed separately (e.g., after the reference list) under a different heading if desired, or can be included in the reference list.

Reference management software
Our journal has a standard template available in key reference management packages (with slight modifications). This covers packages using the Citation Style Language, such as Mendeley (http://www.mendeley.com/features/reference-manager) and also others like EndNote (http://www.endnote.com/support/enstyles.asp) and Reference Manager (http://refman.com/support/rmstyles.asp).
When preparing your manuscript, you will then be able to select this style using the Mendeley plugins for Microsoft Word or LibreOffice. For more information about the Citation Style Language, visit http://citationstyles.org.

Images/photographs, Figures (Graphs), and tables
Images/photographs must be in TIFF or JPG format with a minimum resolution of 300×300 dpi and must be uploaded as separate files. Figures (Graphs), diagrams, and tables should be embedded within the word document (as Microsoft Word 2007 format or as separate Microsoft Excel files) and or listed at the end of the references in the main manuscript. The placement of tables, figures, and images should be marked in the manuscript if they are not present in the main text.

Details for Copyright (COPYRIGHT RELEASE FORM)
COPYRIGHT RELEASE FORM should be physically signed by the Corresponding author and a scanned copy emailed to the journal. This form will be retained by the FDNS for administrative purposes.
Reviewers
Authors may suggest up to 3 reviewers and indicate up to 3 reviewers by whom they may not wish to have their manuscripts reviewed. There is no guarantee that the manuscripts would be sent to the suggested reviewers, however, manuscripts will not be sent to reviewers whom the authors have suggested to avoid.
Additional information
Authorship
Each author should have participated sufficiently in the work to take public responsibility for the contents of the paper submitted. Participation solely in the collection of data does not justify authorship.
Page charges
Article-processing charges are only made if an article is accepted for publication (there is no charge for submission). The corresponding author can pay the fee (300 USD $; but, up to three issue will be free of charge) by contacting to Managing Editor to make a direct transfer.
The payment procedure will be notified to the author through e-mail after the successful review process. Prompt payment is advised as the article will not be published until payment is received.
